Baboulas Ouzeri is a charming and cozy restaurant located in the heart of Mykonos. The restaurant has a traditional Greek ambiance with whitewashed walls, rustic wooden tables, and charming decor elements that create a homely atmosphere.
As a lover of Greek cuisine, I was thrilled to visit Baboulas Ouzeri during my recent trip to Mykonos. After reading rave reviews on TripAdvisor, I couldn’t wait to try their famous dishes.
I was not disappointed – from the friendly service to the amazing flavors, my experience at Baboulas Ouzeri was fantastic.
To start, we ordered the tzatziki and fava bean dip appetizers. Both were delicious, but the fava bean dip was a standout for me. It had a creamy texture with a subtle garlic flavor that was perfectly complemented by the warm pita bread. For our main course, we ordered the grilled octopus and the moussaka. The octopus was cooked to perfection – tender and full of flavor. The moussaka was a standout dish with its layers of eggplant, beef, and béchamel sauce. It was a perfect balance of savory and creamy, and the portion size was generous.
Another dish that stood out to me was the stuffed squid. The squid was cooked just right and filled with a mixture of herbs, rice, and diced vegetables. The dish was served with a side of lemon wedges and the combination of the lemon and the stuffing created a burst of flavors in every bite. The presentation was also impressive, with the squid sitting on a bed of colorful roasted peppers and zucchini.
The lamb chops were another highlight of the meal. They were cooked to a perfect medium-rare and had a nice char on the outside, while still being tender and juicy on the inside. The seasoning was also spot-on, with a mix of herbs and spices that enhanced the natural flavors of the lamb.
To finish off the meal, we ordered the traditional Greek dessert of baklava. The pastry was flaky and sweet, with just the right amount of honey syrup drizzled on top. It was a perfect ending to an amazing meal.
Overall, Baboulas Ouzeri exceeded my expectations. The food was incredible, and the service was warm and welcoming.
We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic Greek dining experience in Mykonos.
