Tigani Beach in Mykonos: On the northeast tip of Mykonos lie the beaches of Pano and Kato Tigani. They are located 14 km from Chora, in the area of Profitis Ilias, and overlook Tragonisi, a tiny island on the Aegean Sea with enchanting sea caves. Both Pano and Kato Tigani are secluded, surrounded by a rocky landscape with little vegetation and no houses around. The waters are blue, cold, and crystal-clear, while their coast has coarse golden sand. By dint of their secluded location, very few people visit them compared to the most popular beaches of Mykonos, such as Super Paradise, Paradise, and Elia, which attract thousands of tourists each year.
Pano Tigani and Kato Tigani are unique destinations for those seeking relaxation and a peaceful environment during their holidays in Mykonos. Those beaches are among the gay-friendly spots on the island due to their isolation and privacy. When visiting Pano or Kato Tigani, you should keep in mind that they are not organized – in other words, no sunbeds or umbrellas are available. In addition, you better bring a bottle of water and some snacks with you since mini-markets and restaurants don’t lie nearby.
Access to Pano and Kato Tigani might frustrate visitors due to the long dirt road they have to cross by car to reach the beach, but even the most demanding visitor is rewarded as soon as he arrives and stares at the beautiful serene landscape. However, both beaches can be reached by private boat through the sea. Within a short distance from Tigani, you will find Lia beach, another lovely destination with white sand and charming waters. If you head further south, you will reach Kalafatis beach.
