Ftelia in Mykonos is a beautiful, north-orientated beach. It is affected by the Meltemi (the Cycladic wind coming from the north) and, for that reason, is particularly famous among windsurfers.
The shore is sandy and the sea turquoise. It comprises a very peaceful and uncrowded beach, which is somewhat surprising because it is quite accessible from Chora.
A beach bar lies at the beach’s edge, providing guests with seating under umbrellas.
Additionally, the beach is also well-known for its neighboring neolithic settlement. In fact, it is believed that Ajax the Lesser – one of the main heroes of Homer’s Iliad – was buried there.
You can’t approach Ftelia via bus, so private means of transportation are the only way to visit the beautiful secluded beach.
