Mykonos is a popular tourist destination in Greece and is easily accessible by air and sea.
By Air: The quickest and most convenient way to reach Mykonos is by air. The island has its own international airport (JMK), which is located about 4 kilometers southeast of Mykonos Town. The airport serves both domestic and international flights, with several airlines offering direct flights from major cities in Europe.
By Sea: Another popular way to reach Mykonos is by sea. The island is well-connected by ferry and high-speed catamaran to other islands in the Cyclades, as well as to the mainland port of Piraeus in Athens. There are also ferries and catamarans that connect Mykonos to other popular tourist destinations in Greece, such as Santorini and Crete.
When traveling by ferry, it’s important to check schedules and book in advance, especially during the high season (July-August), as seats can fill up quickly.
Once you arrive at Mykonos, there are taxis and buses available at the port and airport to take you to your destination on the island. Many hotels and resorts also offer shuttle services for their guests. Additionally, there are car rental agencies and scooter rental shops on the island, which can be a great way to explore at your own pace.
